Committee Function:

1. Provide quality affordable continuing education to the practicing land surveyor to broaden and refresh the land surveyor's knowledge base and to enable the land surveyor to meet Iowa's continuing education requirements.
2. Select short courses topics from those provided by ACSM, SLSI surveys or other sources.
3. Coordinate short course program with instructor and meeting facility:
   1. Determine fee for presentation including travel, lodging and expenses.
   2. Determine if fee includes handouts.
   3. If fee does not include handouts, determine who is responsible for copying and distribution.
   4. Make lodging arrangement if necessary.
   5. Work with state office in creating mailer to promote program.
   6. Arrange for adequate meeting space to accompany expected attendance.
   7. Coordinate meals (provide meal guarantees) and coffee breaks with meeting facility.
   8. Arrange for necessary audio-visual equipment.
   9. Provide a method for documenting continuing education units for participants.

Note: Meeting space has been reserved at the Scheman Center for the following dates: January 18, 2002; January 17, 2003; January 16, 2004; January 21, 2005; January 20, 2006, January 19, 2007 and January 18, 2008.
